Manufacturing Supervisor, 1st Shift

Job Responsibilities/Department description:

This person implements and maintains production schedules for the Upstream Manufacturing department while demonstrating a working knowledge of various aspects of a protein purification process including column chromatography

,

Ultrafiltration and Microfiltration. He/She Provides and documents training with direct guidance to employees ensuring compliance with GMP's and SOP's. He/She also provides performance appraisals and career development and is responsible for the hiring and development of new employees. The person begins to apply standard costs and use of materials, labor and machines which affect standard costs in order to ensure performance at standards and to provide costing data for use in the annual budget process. He/She also performs direct issue of materials, creates jobs and ensures data-entry is done in integrated business information computer system.Assignments are received in task-oriented terms. This person will also be responsible for providing direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. He/She also administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees and accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision of non-exempt and entry level exempt employees while ensuring that projects are completed on schedule.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

This is a rotating 1st shift position (7:00AM to 7:00PM).

Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences and a minimum of 5 years of lab or manufacturing experience Associates Degree with a minimum of 7 years of lab or manufacturing experience. Minimum of 1 year experience leading/supervising in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in running automated Column Chromatography and Tangential Flow Filtration systems.

Previous experience working with Delta V and/or RS3 automated control systems.
